2011 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "La Forest"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "La Forest" (93JS, 93ST, 92BH, 92RP, 92VN). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright pale yellow. Penetrating mineral aromas of crushed stone and oyster shell, with a hint of ripe grapefruit in the background. Wonderfully juicy and vibrant if youthfully taut, offering uncanny intensity and tactility for the vintage. Finishes saline and extremely long, with notes of lime, oatmeal and powdered stone. This palate-staining wine left my salivary glands quivering. Dauvissat does a vendange entier, practically no debourbage and almost no stirring of the lees. (ST) 93+" (08/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine de la Vougeraie Gevrey-Chambertin "Evocelles" ((89-92BH), (88-90VN)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A cooler if not necessarily more refined nose speaks of airy scents that included high-toned red pinot fruit, floral and stone nuances with undertones of warm earth and iron. There is a really attractive sense of energy and even more minerality on the precise, dusty, focused and impressively intense medium weight flavors that possess outstanding complexity and terrific length. This is a knockout for its level. *Outstanding. Top Value*" (01/2012)

2011 Descendientes de Jose Palacios "Las Lamas" Bierzo
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Descendientes de Jose Palacios "Las Lamas" Bierzo (94RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Las Lamas is a true expression of both the vintage and the vineyard, which is usually the most powerful of all the wines produced by the winery. Perhaps 2011 imprinted more character in the wine than 2010 did. The nose is full of blueberries, peach and gunpowder, wet slate, peat and smoke notes. It’s a powerful wine, this is the only vineyard where they have some clay mixed with the slate. Some fine-grained tannins hint at the need of a couple of years in bottle. Drink 2015-2026. 1989 Domaine Henri Sorrel "Le Gréal" Hermitage
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1989 Domaine Henri Sorrel "Le Gréal" Hermitage (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I suspect this is one of those nearly immortal examples of the vintage that will last for 40-50 years. How often can one say that about modem-day Bordeaux or Burgundies? The color is black/purple, the nose reluctantly offers up smells of tar and spices (including soy), smoke, coffee, and cassis. In the mouth, there is a heady, chewy ripeness, extraordinary presence, and an almost massive amount of weight and fruit, all crammed into a well-delineated, rich, backward, tannic, sublime wine that is a benchmark example of red Hermitage. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru "Butteaux" Vieilles Vignes (92VN, (90-91RP), 90BH). Vinous: "Deep, dense and powerful, the 2012 Chablis Butteaux Vieilles Vignes captures the essence of this old-vine parcel while maintaining plenty of the freshness and verve that are the hallmarks of Butteaux. Overall, the 2012 is a vertical wine built on pure old-vine structure. Ideally, the 2012 needs another year or more in bottle, but it is terrific. The Vieilles Vignes was bottled a full seven months later than the straight Butteaux. (AG)" (08/2014)

2000 Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Musigny Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Musigny Grand Cru (93BH, 92RP, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A fabulously complex nose that has now gone almost fully secondary aromas with floral notes to the mostly black fruit scents that enjoy added breadth in the form of anise, dried herbs and a touch of smoke. The medium-full flavors offer exceptional focus and such richness that this seems almost liqueur-like, all wrapped in a hugely long and mouth coating finish. As is typical of the Mugnier style that despite all the fireworks, this manages to remain discreet, harmonious and perfectly balanced. While there is plenty going on, this is not a particularly big Musigny yet it is superbly refined, classy and extremely pure. In short, this is class in a glass and this delivers knock out quality for the vintage. For my taste this is drinking perfectly now though I underscore that it should continue to do so for years and there might even be a small amount of upside

Wine Spectator: "Dense, rich and enormously concentrated, mixing power with finesse. Pure, ripe, riveting aromas of blackberry, blueberry, currant, sage, cedar, espresso and mocha lead to a full-bodied palate, firming beautifully on the finish, where the flavors glide along and gain traction. Drink now through 2028." (11/2011)

1978 Shafer "Stag's Leap Area" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1978 Shafer "Stag's Leap Area" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP, 92WS, 91CG). Wine Spectator: "A real mouthful of Cabernet, time has worked in its favor. It still exhibits a rich core of currant and cherry and the tannins are a bit raw, but it's youthful for its age, with hints of anise, cedar and sage. Finishes with a long, complex aftertaste and a meaty edge. (JL)" (11/1998)

James Suckling: "Amazing aromas of blueberry, blackberry, mineral and bark. Complex nose. Full body plus super integrated tannins with superb balance and depth. Coffee and chocolate too. 2012 Hudelot Noellat Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Hudelot Noellat Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (93BH, (91-93RP), 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru comes from 0.69-hectare of vine from 3 parcels, two close to the chateau and the other down towards the Route Nationale. It has a feminine, floral bouquet with touches of bergamot and raspberry preserve developing in the glass. These aromatics are very alluring even at this primordial stage. The palate appears vibrant with crisp tannins; underpinned by taut red berry fruit with fine mineralite flourishing towards the finish. This is very classy – another over-achieving 2012 wine from Burgundy’s most famous clos. (NM)" (12/2013)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2008 Clos Saint-Jean "Deus Ex Machina" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 93JD, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I think the wine of the vintage, the 2008 Chateauneuf du Pape Deus ex Machina again shows how good this estate is, even in difficult vintages. Giving up beautifully ripe black cherry, currant, licorice, ground herbs and hints of pepper, it’s full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, rich, structured and layered on the palate. While it will age gracefully, it too is a superb drink now. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2011 Dominio de Pingus "Flor de Pingus" Ribera del Duero (93VN, 92JS, 91RP). Vinous: "Inky ruby. Potent, mineral- and smoke-accented dark berry and violet scents show excellent clarity and lift. Silky and seamless in texture, offering sweet blackberry and boysenberry flavors and notes of spicecake and floral pastilles. Closes with strong thrust, appealing sweetness and sneaky, slow-mounting tannins. Very suave, even now, but this wine will be much better in another five to seven years. (JR)" (09/2013)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A brooding and distinctly cool nose exhibits notes of black cherry, violets, underbrush, humus and plenty of sauvage character. There is excellent intensity and fine detail to the mineral-driven and sleekly muscular medium-bodied flavors that possess a suave mid-palate that rapidly changes to austerity on the firm, serious and ever-so-slightly rustic finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A barrel sample to be bottled around July 2018, the 2015 Chardonnay The Judge offers up very pretty orange blossom and jasmine notes with a core of lemon curd, pink grapefruit and guava plus buttered toast and praline. Full-bodied, wonderfully creamy, spicy and gregarious, it has so much verve and expression, finishing very long, layered and minerally. (LPB)" (10/2017)

Bid on this magnum lot of 2013 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 100RP, 98JS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky, which is essentially made from clone 4 from two separate blocks, clone 6 and clone 337, is another perfect wine from the Schraders. I suppose it’s a little boring to say, and perhaps I can be accused of creating unrealistic expectations on the part of readers, but this is as great as Cabernet can be. Tasting like a first-growth Pauillac, the wine is opaque purple and has a fabulous nose of lead pencil, spring flowers, blueberry and blackberry and the telltale cassis. There is also some licorice and sweet oak, the tannins are ripe, and the wine full-bodied. Built like a skyscraper, with an incredible finish (like most of these wines) going on for 50 seconds to a minute, this amazing wine should still be drinking splendidly well at age 25 or 30. 2008 Montevetrano Colli di Salerno
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Montevetrano Colli di Salerno (94RP, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Montevetrano is almost impossibly young at this stage. Loaded with the essence of black cherry liqueur, minerals and spices, the wine conquers the palate with layers of richly structured fruit. The 2008 is full of raw, vinous energy, yet it is possible to get a sense of the brilliant future that lies ahead from the way the wine continues to develop beautifully in the glass. In 2008 climactic conditions were much more normal than 2007, with a healthy alternation of temperatures that favored the development of expressive aromatics and firm structure. Today the 2008 looks to be a fabulous Montevetrano, but my sense is it is first headed for a period of stubbornness before it emerges once again. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028. 2001 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2001 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Montrachet Grand Cru (94BH, (92-94RP), 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Domaine de la Romanee-Conti’s policy of late harvests for their Montrachet leads to forward, expressive wines with boisterously flavorful personalities. The 2001 was picked at 14% natural potential alcohol and reveals some hints of botrytis. Buttered toast, hazelnuts, and smoky spices are found in its aromatic profile. This plush, intense wine admirably combines muscular power with elegance. Light to medium-bodied, it is a fresh, delineated, spice-laden effort that is packed with pears and minerals." (06/2003)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Power and elegance meld together gracefully in the 2010 Barbaresco Sori’ Paitin. This is another huge wine loaded with fruit, structure and phenomenal balance. Sweet red cherries, flowers and cinnamon emerge over time, but the 2010 stands out most for its exceptional pedigree and pure class. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a cold, rain-plagued year, the 2011 Chardonnay La Carriere exhibits a light straw color with a greenish hue as well as notes of honeyed brioche, orange marmalade, buttery citrus and terrific fruit. More evolved and seductive than the 2010 at present, the 2011 is a beautiful wine that should drink well for 7-8 years. (RP) " (12/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (98VN, 94RP, 94WS, 93W&S). Vinous: "The 2012 Monte Bello is one of the most harmonious young Monte Bellos I can remember tasting. Seamless and voluptuous through to the finish, the 2012 is showing beautifully today. Raspberry jam, pomegranate, white flowers, mint and spices are some of the many notes that flesh out in the glass. A wine with a distinctly red-hued profile, silky tannins, no hard edges and exceptional overall balance, the 2012 Monte Bello is simply magnificent. The 2012 is racy but also impeccably balanced throughout, with shades of the 2001 that come through from time to time. I won't be surprised if the 2013 and 2014 both eventually surpass it, but there is no denying that the 2012 is simply stunning today. This is one of the best showings yet for the 2012. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Philipponnat "Clos de Goisses" Brut Champagne (95RP, 95VN, 94BH, 94WE, 92WS). This is a muscular, powerful wine that needs serious bottle age to come around, yet it possesses striking clarity and detail in its aromatics and flavors. Clos des Goisses is one of the most rewarding wines to drink when mature, and I have no doubt this will be another splendid version. This refined, sumptuous wine is not to be missed. Clos des Goisses is 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, and 30% of the wine was fermented in oak. This bottle was disgorged in March 2007. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2024. (AG)" (12/2008)

The wood aging is still showing, although that will integrate into the great structure that holds up the ripe black currant fruits. Nevertheless, the incredible quality is present in its purity, focus, full-bodied richness and awesome finish. Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2002 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (96RP, 95CG, 95WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard is a massive, youthful blockbuster with an opaque purple color as well as firm tannins (despite the general openness and ripeness of the 2002 Napa Cabernets). Almost overly rich, it has a long evolution ahead of it given its firm tannins and off-the-charts concentration and extract. One has to admire this cuvee for its extraordinary structure and multidimensional personality, but at present, even with airing, the primary aromas of new oak, loamy soil, graphite, incense and black fruits are all one can expect. In the mouth, the wine remains brutally tannic, but there is enough stuffing to easily balance out the wine’s structure. It is a young, possibly great wine for the ages, and I would not hesitate to put my money where my mouth is. This 2002 should be absolutely amazing in 25-30 years. (RP) 96+" (06

Full-bodied and full-throttle in the mouth, it coats the palate with rich, opulent black fruit and spices, framed by velvety tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and earthy. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Bruno Clavelier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "La Combe d`Orveaux" Vieilles Vignes (93BH, 93ST, 92WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright red. Sexy aromas of red fruits, coffee, wild herbs, exotic spices and smoky minerality. Rich and creamy yet at the same time savory and vibrant; spreads out impressively to saturate the mouth with red fruit and spice flavors. Finishes with serious dusty tannins, excellent length and plenty of force. Bruno Clavelier describes 2009 as "a vintage of material, strong but tasty," and this wine is a perfect demonstration of this combination. (ST)" (03/2012)

2006 Heitz "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Heitz "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Spectator: "There's much to admire in this young Martha's, though it lacks the accessibility of the 2005. The core mint-chocolate-covered cherry and berry flavors are tight and structured, true to the vintage, so it's best to cellar this one and see what happens. The wait is usually worth it. Best from 2013 through 2021. (JL, Web Only-2011)"

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Apricots, peaches, smoke and licorice are some of the many nuances that jump from the glass in the 2010 Meursault Charmes. The 2010 possesses stunning textural richness and depth all the way through to the voluptuous, palate staining finish. In 2010, Jobard’s Charmes is pure elegance. (AG)" (08/2012)

2006 Fattoria Le Pupille "Saffredi" Maremma Toscana
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Fattoria Le Pupille "Saffredi" Maremma Toscana (96RP, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Saffredi is the bombastic, kaleidoscopic wine it has always been. In fact at times it resembles a barrel sample, given its superb vibrancy and freshness! Dark wild cherries, herbs, graphite, spices, tobacco and leather come together beautifully in this focused, powerful Saffredi. Today the 2006 is decidedly virile and youthful, but there is no doubt it has the sheer depth of material to drink beautifully to age 20, and likely beyond. The 2006 is a marvelous Saffredi, but patience is required. (AG)" (05/2011)

2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (1.5L)
Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (1.5L) (100RP, 98JS, 96VN, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An amazing wine in every sense, this classic, full-bodied Pauillac is the quintessential Pontet Canet from proprietor Alfred Tesseron, who continues to reduce yields and farms his vineyards biodynamically – a rarity in Bordeaux. Black as a moonless night, the 2009 Pontet Canet offers up notes of incense, graphite, smoke, licorice, creme de cassis and blackberries. A wine of irrefutable purity, laser-like precision, colossal weight and richness, and sensational freshness, this is a tour de force in winemaking that is capable of lasting 50 or more years. The tannins are elevated, but they are sweet and beautifully integrated as are the acidity, wood and alcohol (which must be in excess of 14%). This vineyard, which is situated on the high plateau of Pauillac adjacent to Mouton Rothschild, appears to have done everything perfectly in 2009. This cuvee should shut down i

2010 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Montrose, St-Estèphe (100RP, 97JS, 97WS, 96WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is considered to be among the greatest vintages ever made in Montrose, right up with the 1929, 1945, 1947, 1959, 1961, 1989, 1990 and 2009. Harvest was October 15 to 17. The wine has really come on since I last tasted it, and it needs at least another 10 years of cellaring. The blend was 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The wine is opaque black/blue, with an incredible nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur, with hints of incense, licorice, and acacia flowers. Tannins are incredibly sweet and very present. The wine is full-bodied, even massive, with great purity, depth and a finish that goes on close to a minute. This is a 50- to 75-year-old wine that will repay handsomely those with good aging genes. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Outstanding* Here the aromatic profile is completely different with dark berries, plum, spice and violets. There is fine concentration to the velvet textured medium weight flavors that possess plenty of dry extract that successfully buffers the otherwise very firm and moderately rustic tannins on the exceptionally long finish. This is very Nuits and clearly built to age so there is no point buying this if you do not intend to cellar if for the long-term." (01/2013)

Plum, mocha and truffle on the complex nose, even a hint of maple syrup. A very silky, edge-free wine with lovely sucrosité and thickness to its mellow red fruit and underbrush flavors. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Chenes" (94BH, 93RP, 93ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too serves up a remarkably layered if extremely reserved nose that displays plenty of earth and spice as well as very fresh and cool aromas of red and blue pinot, floral notes and an obvious mineral influence that continues onto the tautly muscular and overtly powerful big-bodied flavors that are long, serious and focused on the presently austere finish. It's interesting to compare the quality of the tannins between this and the Caillerets - here they are denser but less fine and as a consequence, this will need a few extra years of cellar time. *Outstanding*" (05/2011)

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A slightly riper and terrifically layered nose of intensely earthy red berry fruit aromas that give way to rich, round and delicious medium-bodied flavors that are certainly more powerful though by the typical standards of a terres rouges-based Bonnes Mares, it's actually quite refined. Like the Amoureuses, this is an extremely elegant version of the appellation yet should repay up to seven to eight years of cellar time though it will be drinkable well before that." (01/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Mortet’s 2005 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Champeaux (from very old vines) smells of ripe cassis, meats and chalk along with subtle spice and vanilla, displays formidable density, firmness, and fine-grained texture on the palate yet persistent brightness and elegance, and finishes with palate-staining, bitter-edged black fruits and chalky, salty minerality. 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stein" Central Coast Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stein" Central Coast Grenache (97RP, (95-97VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Starting with the Grenache release, the 2012 Grenache Stein is a blend of 76% Grenache, 16% Syrah, and 8% Mourvedre, aged in 14% new French oak (15% was in concrete), that comes mostly from the estate's Eleven Confessions Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, but also includes grapes from the Cumulus, Third Twin (Syrah) and Bien Nacido vineyards. Checking in at 15.7% alcohol, it's no lightweight, yet it has considerable elegance in its sweet blackcurrants, white pepper, licorice, baking spices and hints of violet-like aromas and flavors. Possessing the hallmark purity of the estate, it's full-bodied, concentrated, rich and textured, with sweet tannin barely noticeable on the finish. I don't think it's one of the greatest Grenaches from the estate, yet it's still an incredible effort that will benefit from short-term cellaring and have 15-20 years or more of overall longe
